'Saturday Soak' is a brand new five track EP from Cheshire based songwriter Ben Forrester aka Peaks. It was only in April that Ben released his debut album 'Season' through Birmingham DIY collective Die Das Der but thanks to a bit of unexpected downtime (hello pandemic), was able to work on new ideas.

A statement from Ben: "I remember lock-down coming in and thinking it would be a good time to start writing again. As expected, it took me a while to get back into the swing of things. But like a lot of my writing; one idea came out of the blue and then everything else just fell into place after that. I found myself inspired by my first EP which was written in the space of a few days and was very much a snap shot of that time in my life. I would probably say that this it's companion piece. For the most part this is about moving house, living in lock-down and trying to relish in the quieter moments we've been living in recently".

Continuing on from the stripped back, acoustic sound of the album, 'Saturday Soak' adds a few more layers to Peak's generally expansive sound taking inspiration from grunge, country and spoken word. But still retaining the directness and honesty that made 'Season' a hit amongst the DIY community, 'Saturday Soak' is another strong entry in Peaks' quickly growing back catalogue.
